Princess Twilight Sparkle is tired of being a stunningly attractive spinster, so she decides to ask out the pony of her desires (whom she decides is Applejack). As is par for the course, things don't go exactly as planned, but Twilight learns valuable lessons about magic and friendship in the process.
After reading a book by Spitfire's personal trainer, Rainbow Dash decides that the best way to get closer to her ultimate goal of joining the Wonderbolts is to add strength training to her practices by having one of her friends ride her. However, when she decides that Twilight Sparkle is just the mare for the job, the pegasus gets a bit more than she bargained for.I guess it's my job to do just a bit more than freak out at a cover art and try to start a Pinkie mob, though I'll have you know this only got read on direct orders. The Sequel to 'Faith and Doubt'.
It's been two months since the changeling attack and Shining's almost-wedding and much has changed. Twilight Sparkle is now an alicorn and has left Equestria to master her new powers. The sixth element of harmony, the corrupt abstract Doubt, has been reborn in his original form: Faith. He, along with Spike, have gone with Twilight as she sought to heal after the betrayal by her friends and family.
But Twilight's return to Ponyville will not be a happy one; in her absence her friends Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie have been turned into alicorns themselves and the embodiments of their elements. They have seized power and now rule Equestria with iron hooves, using banned magic to turn their friends and family into zealots that obey their every command.
To save Equestria, Twilight will have to do the unthinkable: form a rebellion and declare war on her friends.
But will she be willing to make the tough decisions... even if it means choosing between friendship and freedom.

A massive artificial behemoth made of metal tore through our skies. It loomed over our world, blotting out Celestia's sun and shrouding Luna's moon, leaving those below in the shadows. It sowed chaos and conflict on our nation, something that had not happened in more than a millennium.

Twilight Sparkle is accepted into Princess Celestia's School For Gifted Unicorns and gets a little more than she bargained for.
Ponyville, the humble village known for its peaceful tranquility, is shaken to its core when a body is discovered in the Everfree Forest. As the townsponies grieve, the strange, pale Special Agent Bentgrass, from Their Majesties' Royal Investigative Service, arrives at the Books and Branches library and drags Twilight into a world she's only read about: lies, corruption, suspicion, and murder. Faced with an indifferent police force, and Agent Bentgrass's infuriating methods, Twilight must put the pieces together and catch the killer. But as blood continues to spill and questions pile up, one thing is terrifyingly clear: in the dark of the Everfree, much more is at play than mere murder.
"Strong" is definitely a word that describes the Apples, and their family bonds are one of their biggest strengths. But Applejack will need to show her vulnerable side to get the most out of this day.
With her friends' help and a few cracks in her armor, Applejack is going to make this Mother's Day the best one yet.

I'm not joking. This is close to how it really is! The insanity that I deal with everyday! This story definitely deserves the random tag. It's also loosely based on true events in my life. Rainbow Dash is the leading Senior NCO of a Com squadron. Pinkie's this spastic Technical Sergeant. Twilight is a grumpy Master Sergeant. Fluttershy is the adorable Commander. Yay.
