SITREP #045: Outside The Wire and Ms. Duckworth

Well, our pals at Outside The Wire, for the Army Times went ahead and and made an article that I think you all should see. It's a fantastic smoke session as federal representative Tammy Duckworth (D - IL) shames the head of a private company (Mr. Castillo) that the IRS may have illegally contracted. One of the purposes of the congressional investigation is to find out if any illegal activities had taken place. The one thing that Ms. Duckworth wouldn't stand for is the possibility that Mr. Castillo may have used a twisted ankle he got during military prep school as a military-service disability in order to win over the federal contract with the IRS.

Ms. Duckworth seemed positively annoyed by Mr. Castillo's disability rating. Ms. Duckworth was severely injured in 2004, in Iraq, after the UH-60 Blackhawk she was flying was hit by an enemy RPG round. She sustained extensive damage to her arm and both legs, eventually requiring a double amputation of both legs.

Our own Tweak (Jake The Army Guy) has got himself entered into the Pony Fiction Vault, a website that attempts to preserve some of the best works generated by the our fandom. The work he got vaulted for? "Under a Luminous Sky".

He was given an interview and sat down to talk about Fanfiction, the borny community, himself, his own work, and I quote: "sunshine, rainbows, and fairy farts". Links to the original story, and corresponding video tapped interview will be below

BronyCon Announces Voice Actress Brenda Crichlow

BronyCon is happy to welcome Brenda Crichlow, voice of Zecora, as a guest of honor at this year’s convention!

Besides her voicework on My Little Pony, Crichlow is well known for her acting career with over 24 years of experience under her belt. She has appeared in dozens of popular television shows and movies, including episodes of The Twilight Zone, Smallville, Eureka and the Blade TV series, as well as films such as Fantastic Four. In addition, she is the owner of the Crichlow Actors' Studio where she works as both an instructor and artistic director.
