Songs for the Troops #025 - Royal Fanfare

Ah, stiff upper lip chap, today on Musical pieces for the Officers abroad, we shall be looking at a delightfully unknown artist in the pony loving fandom.

I'll stop now. Anyway, today we will be looking at 'Royal Fanfare', a military brony from the United States Air Force band.

Now, let's start off with a little bit about Fanfare himself, who has been working in the USAF band for 18 years, working as a horn player, composer, and alternate Drum Major! He's also the NCOIC of Ceremonial Training, and writes the manuals they use as continuity documents. He has even played in 4 Inaugural Parades and Inaugural Balls at the Kennedy Center, on Fox & Friends, the Today Show (12 times!), and in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. He currently judges for the Atlantic Indoor Association in the winter, and designs for and teaches James Madison HS marching band in Vienna, VA.

He uses Finale 2011 to write music, and unlike most PMV artists, he actually notates the music so it can be read by live musicians at some point; he does not use sound files, drum machines or remix software.

Well his service record and experience are... Quite frankly huge. It's a wonder no one has discovered his work. Some of which is featured below!

PORTAL! TURRET OPERA! YEAAA!

FLUTTERSHY! BRASS! YEAAA!

Good god. Those are some GORGEOUS strings. This is seriously great, a piece music that is not only technically correct, but tells a story; using only instruments, no vocals!

As a personal plea, please, if you're making a fan made episode, PMV, movie, animation, or whatever. Ask Royal Fanfare to make music for it, I guarantee it will be fantastic, his selling points are listed by the paragraph above. If you wish to contact him, please e-mail: warhmr@yahoo.com with an idea or proposition!

Anyway, as always I have been Aetherious,

             Semper Filly!

Please remember that pirating music with a YouTube video down-loader is Illegal, if an artist would like to be paid for taking the time they do to make their works of art, respect that and give even a small amount on their respective Bandcamp.
