Behold, an EileMontyVA review! Today we are going to have a look at "The Moon Rises", which is an atmospheric soundtrack piece; originally written and performed by "PonyPhonic".
We have a lot of ground to cover on this one, so let's get started!
Now, sadly, I'm going to start off with a negative point; just to get it out of the way. There is a serious problem that both PonyPhonic, and EileMontyVA need to overcome. I hope to Tartarus they read this and actually try...
They both need to project their voices.
The Moon Rises is incredibly dramatic, but I can't feel that either of them are really living the song. It's not like they can't sing. They are both fantastic, but when I see "EileMontyVA - The Moon Rises," I don't want just EileMontyVA singing it, I want EileMontyVA as Nightmare Moon, being the character pouring some emotion into the song and making you get shivers!
Sadly this did not occur. Near the end of the 3rd verse there should have been more voice projection and emotion, this is remedied sometime later in the 4th verse. Unfortunately, it dies a few seconds later. I really wanted to see "The Nighttime haaaas beguuuuuuun!" But what I got was... Well... "The Nighttime haaaas! Begun." This made me very sad; I was so ready for the big explosion of feeling, but instead the fuse burned out at the last second. However, this is the only real thing I can pick out that's negative about this song.

So let's talk positive, EileMontyVA has a pretty great voice, and the first 2 verses are pretty much flawless. She didn't forget to put the Latin chant in between verses 2 and 3, and come on, who doesn't love Latin?! The song itself is very well-written (kudos to PonyPhonic for coming up with such brilliant and imaginative lyrics) and apart from the slight lack of emotion, this piece is fantastic.
Semper Filly!
